Hangana Seafood operates deep-water wet-fish vessels in the south-eastern Atlantic. The fish are caught by implementing the highest quality standards, including HACCP, during the complete catch process, in order to then be able to produce a premium frozen final product for the consumer.

The main species targeted by our fleet are hake (Merluccius capensis and M. paradoxus), while some other deep-water species are caught as well, i.e. kingklip, monkfish, sole and squid. The complete hake catch is processed into a final product. Bones and offcuts are used to produce fishmeal and mince. Some of our higher-value by-catch (monkfish, kingklip) are prepared as final frozen products for export and local markets.

The product caught (mainly hake) is processed into a first-rate frozen final product in our land based processing plant, where we continue to adhere to the highest quality standards and the HACCP system.

Hangana Seafood specialises in producing value-added products, both for the retail and catering markets.
